Didn’t last long

Before giving the toy to my dog I trimmed off the tags as they are always the first to be ingested. Within 5 minutes my little 15lb destroyer (yes, 15) had chewed off and swallowed the top two scales on the head. I trimmed off the remaining material on the head. 5 more minutes and two of the scales on his back were gone. So I trimmed all the scales off the back. Next the nostril horns disappeared. I took the toy away after 15 minutes of play when he started vomiting material.
I had high hopes for this toy because the only toy my dog hasn’t destroyed is made out of this material (crinkle octopus) it’s lasted 6 months so far and he plays with it everyday.

Great toy, why sew in the tags?

When our Golden Retriever was a puppy we bought him the small version of the rooster. It was his favorite toy and it lasted for over a year (while other toys lasted maybe a month). We then upgraded to the large version. Our boy loves to tug so it did not last as long (a few months) but that is to be expected with large breeds that like to tug. ! It's a great toy. One that does not have pieces that the dog can chew off and swallow. No rope attachments - yay! So many toys these days have ropes sewing into them which can be harmful to animals (fibers can get stuck in the intestines). My only recommendation would to cut off the tags. Not sure why dog toy manufactures still sew in tags? Dogs that nip and chew will get these off in seconds and swallow them. In all, love many of the goDog products and this is our favorite.
