Tuffy Dog Toys – Built for Dogs Who Play Hard

When it comes to durable dog toys, Tuffy® Dog Toys are in a class of their own. Designed for interactive play, these tough plush dog toys are made with multiple layers of material, heavy-duty stitching, and reinforced seams to stand up to the most determined pups. Whether it's fetch, tug-of-war, or just some supervised roughhousing, Tuffy Dog Toys offer hours of safe, squeaky fun.

DogTuff proudly offers the largest selection of Tuffy toys for dogs, including all strength levels from the Tuff Scale, so you can find the perfect fit for your furry friend’s play style.

The Toughest Plush Dog Toy Around

Not all plush toys are created equal. Tuffy Dog Toys are built with multiple layers of tough, high-quality fabric to handle everything from light nibblers to enthusiastic tuggers.

Character and Ultimate Series Toys include:

  • 1 outer layer of soft fleece for comfort
  • 1–2 inner layers of industrial-grade luggage material
  • 1 plastic-coated layer to bind fibers, create a waterproof barrier, and improve floatability

Mega Series Toys can have up to 7 total layers, offering one of the toughest constructions on the market for plush dog toys.

These layers make every Tuffy toy both durable and functional, while remaining soft enough for safe indoor play.

SEWN MULTIPLE TIMES FOR STRENGTH

Tuffy toys don’t just rely on tough materials, they're reinforced with advanced stitching techniques to improve durability and extend playtime.

  • Up to 7 rows of stitching
  • Cross-stitched in two directions to bind multiple layers
  • Webbing sewn around edges for added reinforcement
  • When applicable, protective webbing is added and stitched up to 3 more times for even greater strength

This heavy-duty construction helps Tuffy toys outperform most plush alternatives, making them a favorite for dogs who love to tug, whip, or wrestle their toys.

SQUEAKER SAFETY BUILT IN

Love squeaky toys but worry about safety? Tuffy has you covered. Each squeaker is sewn into a secure inner pouch, adding an extra layer of protection. If your pup chews through the toy and reaches the squeaker, you’ll have time to safely remove it before anything is swallowed.

Toy Care

Even the toughest toys show wear over time. To keep your Tuffy toy in top shape:

  • Remove any loose threads promptly to prevent ingestion
  • Remove the toy immediately if your pet reaches the white stuffing core
  • Machine washable – use cold water and air dry only

Toy Safety Reminder:

Tuffy toys are built for interactive play, they are not chew toys. No toy is indestructible, and parts should never be ingested.

Please supervise your pet during play and inspect toys regularly. Responsible play is the key to safe fun!

Similar in size to Howie the Horse, TRex

If you read reviews on these toys, you may have seen a few of mine. To date we have owned 1 small blue shark (when she was a puppy), 1 Pink Pig (as a bigger puppy), 3 TRex, 2 Pterodactyls, 1 Turkey, and probably 3 Howie the Horses.

Howie the Horse is Mama's FAVORITE. You know what I mean. It's the one she loves, searches for, sleeps with, brings to you at the door as a greeting. (Note: The Pterodactyl was one of my favorites to watch her play with).

She was ECSTATIC when she saw a new play toy come out for her Christmas Gift and she also loves this guy, but not as much as Howie. (Howie is a 10/10 love. Girard is a 7/10 love).

Girard's body size is similar to Howie, but his neck is longer (duh) and his head smaller. She can fit his entire head in her mouth. Given as a Christmas Gift here are 2 things that have happened (it's 1/4):
1. There is a seam in the belly that looks to be separating. I'm hoping she doesn't discover this since her attention is on
2. the ears/horns. Now opened (for quality control I'm sure...) and minuscule amounts of stuffing are being discovered nearby.

People always seem to complain on these reviews that their dog can tear the item apart in minutes. I found that you have to make sure you don't just give these over and walk away. We monitor her play and if she starts chewing on it, we take it away. This is listed as a chew toy but IT IS NOT. I have also done repairs on these to make them last longer and help prevent the destuffing.

Check out the measurements of the item. I purposely try and by the biggest ones since I have a large dog.

My 4 instead of 5 stars is based on the weak seam in the belly. If she gets that open, it's Stuffageddon!

Very sturdy

We bought this toy because it was so large and we planned on adopting an adult Great Dane. We ended up with a puppy, and it was taller than him when we brought him home, but he loves it! All I have to do is stand Girard up and my puppy will immediately run over and tackle him and play. It's been 2 weeks of giant, sharp puppy teeth and Girard is still fully in tact.
